Test strips for the measurement of water values are enjoying greater popularity, because they provide a simple and rapid method for quick analysis. When compared to the visual measurements of the Pooltester, there is naturally a significant disadvantage in the size of the coloured field and thus in the possibility of making an exact comparison on the colour scale. The shelf-life of the Test Strips is substantially less than that of the reagent tablets that are being used in the Pool Testers. Yet this is compensated for by the simplicity of use, the ability to obtain rapid measurements, and optimal pricing.

Electronic Meters

Without requiring additional reagents (tablets, drops, etc.), the Electronic Meters offer an absolutely professional way to measure various water values; such as, for example, conductivity, salinity (total dissolved solids), and pH value. The established value is displayed on the device within seconds after dipping the device in sample liquid. The sensitive electrodes, however, should always be kept damp. They should becalibrated at regular intervals, preferably before each measurement, by using a reference fluid. Both the batteries and the electrodes can be changed. The working range of the Electronic Meter is between 0 - 50°C; depending on the model temperature can be compensated for by determining the measurement value.

Water-i.d. comparators provide you with access to professional water analysis. While these comparators are also, like Pooltesters, visual measurement devices, the arrangement of the measured colour to the scale – and the determination of the measurement value – is much more precise with comparators because the measurement is compared on a rotating colour scale (colour disc). there are no measurement results “between” individual colour scales. ergonomic design and high quality materials also simplify measurements. Reagent tablets offer the highest level of assurance that always the exact amount of reagent needed will be used. Most marketed tablet types, such as DPD for determining Chlorine in water, are regulated by strict international standards aimed at guaranteeing that all tablets with that designation (e.g. DPD 1) can also be used in all designated measurement devices made by any manufacturer. Pooli. d. devices and reagents can therefore be combined with other manufacturer’s reagents, and this is also true the other way around. One of the questions discussed often is the difference between RAPID and Photometer tablets. Basically both detect the same content but are different in one important point: RAPID tablets contain a material which “bursts” the tablet, e.g. chemical pulp that expands upon contact with water. This “burst material” would, however, disrupt the light ray of the photometer (suspended particles) which is why RAPID tablets should never be used with electronic devices such as photometers.
